Images
The photographs included on this site come from three separate collections.
Cramer Collection
Alan Cramer is a resident of Stokesville, Virginia and plays an active role in the preservation of the area's history. While many of the photographs in his collection feature or once belonged to other members of the Cramer family, Alan Cramer has also acquired photographs from other Stokesville families over the years as word of his perservation efforts has spread.
Scott Collection
Chris Scott, a resident of Harrisonburg, Virginia, supplied this collection of photographs. Chris Scott is a member of the Stokesville Owners Group LLC which owners a fair amount of property in Stokesville, including the Passenger Depot. These historic photographs were given to him by Janet Keaton, daughter of Hensel Riddleberger, Jr. It is believed that they may have been taken by Walter Daggy, a resident and photographer of Stokesville.
George Best Collection
George Best is currently a graduate student in the History Department at James Madison University. While his research pertains mainly to the American Early Republic, George Best has cultivated a small collection of items from different American railroads.
